I bought this Marshall 4x12 Cabinet back around 2007-2008.
It has stayed in my smoke free studio since.
Over the years, I have used it exclusively for recording and since I didn't need to blast it to keep up with stadium volume levels, I did some modifications (as shown in the pictures) to make it half closed and half open back.
Personally, I think this is the way this cabinet should be made as it gives the best of both worlds but, (except for the need to purchase and cut a piece of MDF for the back panel), these mods are completely reversible if someone chooses to return it to its original state.
The cabinet is in really amazing condition.
I have seen a bunch of postings of similar cabinets that are totally thrashed and listed in good condition.
Other than some minor cracking of the plastic handles around the screw holes, and some really minor Tolex scuffs that are invisible from 3 feet away (as shown in the picts), this cabinet is really beautiful and in my opinion, the best sounding 1960a cabinet I have
ever played.
I no longer need it as I don't play a whole lot of guitar anymore, and when I do, it is pretty much always acoustic.
Never ever thought I would sell this, but we just don't have the space to keep it.
So, I must part ways with it and I hope to find it a great home where it will be played and cherished!
