The Business Development Representative is responsible for developing new business in the builder, developer, architect, and design communities by converting or growing loyalty to the Marvin collections.
The incumbent will grow sales through the development of strong business relationships and in-depth market intelligence within the builder community! This position operates within Marvin’s team-based environment and will partner with territory managers within the region, as well as sales leadership, sales support, and marketing in order to achieve sales objectives.
Highlights of your role In partnership with the regional manager and territory managed, develop an annual Territory Plan that includes market opportunity and a strategy to increase sales and market share.
Proactively prospect for new builder, developer, and architect driven business, particularly those whose segment focus aligns with the Marvin collections.
Create and build these relationships and engage area channel partners to support their successful long-term growth.
Set and complete 3-4 targeted appointments per day with potential trade customers, engaging key channel partners where appropriate.
Work collaboratively with sales team to ensure sales opportunities are effectively completed.
Strategically develop and track targeted potential customers using Salesforce.
Collaborate with sales and marketing to deliver value to channel and trade partners in support of growth.
Use & leverage Marvin’s CRM systems and BI tools, primarily Salesforce and Qlik, to better manage data and allow for better strategic planning and team visibility.
Provide product and technical solutions on individual project opportunities Communicate market conditions, trends, and the competitive environment to sales leadership.
Use Salesforce to report and assess the results of market activities.
Demonstrate and use Marvin trade tools to build long term competitive barriers.
Develop dealer & trade customers through various training, which includes market segment training and focus, sales support, technological interface tools, sales training, and product knowledge training Promote and coordinate factory tours and training held at corporate/flagship location in Warroad, MN.
Join and actively participate in appropriate associations, as recommended or approved through management.
Represent Marvin at trade shows and events.
Frequent travel throughout the assigned territory, which will require some overnight stays Total earning potential $90,000-$130,000 including base salary and monthly sales incentives, although there is no cap on incentive earnings.
You're a good fit if you have Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience Ability to read and interpret construction documents and specifications Premium building products experience in dealer direct territory-based outside sales required Fenestration industry experience given additional consideration Valid driver’s license with acceptable accident and moving violation motor vehicle record Must be able to periodically lift up to 50 lbs Fluid and confident verbal, nonverbal, and written communication skills with an ability to convey strong, clear, concise messages to target audiences including employees, customers, pro trade personnel, and industry groups interact with and motivate cross-functional company groups Cohesive interpersonal and relationship-building skills at multiple levels innovative thinking abilities Developed organizational skills, intuition, and reasoning abilities High energy, self-directed, professionally confident, and self-motivated Approachable, collaborative, and presents with appropriate business insight Self-manage priorities.
