Performing line opening on the packaging lines with Quality Assurance
Performing line/area clearance for removal of previous products, components and foreign materials and assisting with approval of work area readiness prior to use
Perform and document a wide variety of inspections, checks test and samples during the production process
Monitor all aspects of the production operations and conduct routine “walk-through” in the production areas and other specified to ensure that good housekeeping practices, good hygiene practices which could affect the safety and quality of the manufactured products, are followed
Verify that all materials are properly received, stored, and staged and segregated
Host daily production meetings with personnel and assign duties accordingly
Verify scheduled batches against formula given and confirm the packaging components allocated for the manufactured product
Maintain all quality and production paperwork
Ensure all safety rules and regulations are being followed, provide Personal Protective
Equipment (PPE) whenever needed to all employees and temporary workers
Ensure compliance of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and SQF practices are followed
Will participate in annual review process and provide feedback to the Supervisor/ Plant Manager on employees
Will participate in disciplinary actions for employees
Maintain a clean and neat work environment throughout the entirety of the shift
Keep aligned communications with all departments as necessary
Responsible for line efficiency and product yield
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Able to create and submit workorders to specific issues throughout the line
Perform equipment or product changeovers as designated by the Supervisor or Plant Manager
Ability to properly perform Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO)
Operate and adjust equipment to ensure that quality specifications are being met
Assist Maintenance team in repairing, maintaining, and installing equipment as required
Provide on the job training for employees
Develop training curriculum, such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Standard Work Instructions
Complete daily production logs and shift reports
Responsible to report food safety problems to their supervisor or with someone with the authority to initiate action
Oversees CIP process for assigned machinery
Assist with Root Cause Investigations
Responsible for reporting unauthorized persons on site to their Supervisor and/or Manager who will address the situation accordingly
Perform other duties as directed by the Supervisor or Plant Manager
Ability to lead others and take direction, required
Bilingual Spanish Preferred
HS Diploma of GED equivalent required
Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred
Mechanical knowledge and aptitude for working with power tools and hand tool
Familiarity with warehouse operations and inventory management
Ability to operate a forklift or willingness to learn
Experience in assembling products required
