ROLE SUMMARY
The Purchasing Assistant role has a strong emphasis on clerical and data entry related tasks.
This position is responsible for the daily creation, transfer, and maintenance of purchase orders.
In addition, this position is responsible for the daily data entry, research, and tracking of shipping information.
PRIMARY DUTIES
* Create and enter sales orders, purchase orders, and order acknowledgements into database with complete accuracy.
* Transfer orders to database for email and order tracking.
* Verify and track purchase orders in various systems.
* Research and maintain weekly reports.
* Communicate effectively and professionally with vendors and customers by phone and email.
QUALIFICATIONS
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* 2+ experience working in a business environment with a customer service focus.
* Careful attention to detail and accuracy.
* Keen analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
* Strong organization time management, and multi-tasking skills.
* Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Positive, self-motivated attitude with the ability to learn quickly.
* Proficient in computer applications including Outlook, Excel, Word and Adobe Acrobat.
COMPENSATION
$18 to $19 per hour.
Paid time off, health insurance benefits, and a 401(k) plan are also available for eligible team members.
