Position Summary
The Inventory Control Supervisor is a key position responsible for managing and supervising the daily activities related to inventory control within a company.
Implements policies, objectives, and initiatives.
Employs standards, metrics, and procedures that maximize inventory management efficiency.
Assists with inventory planning, scheduling, forecasting, and control operations.
Implements Inventory tools and systems for tracking, analysis, auditing, and reporting.
Collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize initiatives to optimize inventory capabilities and develop best inventory management practices.
Primary Responsibilities
Lead by example with a Safety First mindset in every task
Implement inventory planning strategies to align with production schedules and demand forecasts.
Work closely with production planning teams to ensure the availability of raw materials and components.
Collaborate with production supervisors to coordinate the timely availability of materials for manufacturing processes.
Monitor WIP inventory levels to prevent bottlenecks and ensure a smooth production flow.
Optimize order quantities and lead times to minimize stockouts and excess inventory.
Implement measures to ensure the quality and accuracy of incoming materials and components.
Collaborate with quality assurance teams to address and resolve any quality issues promptly.
Utilize the ERP inventory management system to track the movement of materials and finished goods.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inventory transactions, adjustments, and cycles counts using ERP.
Work closely with procurement, production, and logistics teams to streamline processes and enhance overall supply chain efficiency.
Communicate effectively with other departments to address inventory-related issues and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Analyze manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for improving efficiency and reducing waste.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives in inventory management practices.
Identify and mitigate risks related to inventory shortages, overages, and obsolescence.
Implement strategies to minimize the impact of supply chain disruptions on manufacturing operations.
Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure team members perform their duties effectively.
Coordinate regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure the accuracy of stock records.
Investigate and reconcile any discrepancies found during audits.
Generate and analyze reports on inventory performance, variances, and key metrics.
Present findings and recommendations to management for strategic decision-making.
Requirements:
Education, Experience & Qualifications
Minimum
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
3+ years’ proven experience in inventory control, with demonstrated ability to lead a team.
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, engineering, or related field.
5+ years’ proven experience in inventory control, with demonstrated ability to lead a team.
