Overview:
We are looking for an experienced welder for pipe & structural welding.
Must be willing to perform other tasks than welding.
Other tasks include rigging, crane signaling, demo, and copper piping.
We are a mechanical contractor based in Southern California that replaces large HVAC equipment at hotels, hospitals, factories, and high rises.
Our shop is located in Bloomington, CA.
You will spend 50% of the time at the shop preparing for jobs.
The other 50% of the time you will be traveling to job sites to perform installs.
We provide company trucks for traveling.
Foremen have a company truck with service bed that they are allowed to take home each day.
We pay for travel time to & from job sites based on mileage.
We would like to find somebody that is capable of welding but is also ambitious and wants to eventually become a foreman.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings
- Measure and mark dimensions and reference points on metal components
- Set up and operate welding equipment, including MIG, TIG, and stick welders
- Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions
- Inspect welds for accuracy and quality
- Use hand tools such as grinders, clamps, and hammers to shape and fit metal components
- Operate machinery such as press brake machines to bend and shape metal
- Assemble and fit metal parts using various techniques such as bolting, riveting, or welding
- Perform basic maintenance on welding equipment
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Welder/Fitter
- Proficient in pipe threading, fabricating, and fitting techniques
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings
- Familiarity with measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures
- Strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude
- Ability to operate hand tools safely
