*Job Description:*
We are looking for a motivated and experienced *Traffic Control Engineer* to lead the design and implementation of traffic control plans for construction projects, special events, and roadway maintenance activities.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists through work zones and temporary traffic control areas.
*FLSA Classification: *Exempt
*Essential Functions/Responsibilities*:
* Develop and review traffic control plans, work zone layouts, and detour routes in accordance with MUTCD guidelines, local regulations, and project requirements.
* Conduct site visits and assessments to evaluate existing traffic conditions, identify potential hazards, and develop appropriate traffic control measures.
* Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with permit requirements and safety standards.
* Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and documentation for traffic control plans, including signage, pavement markings, temporary barriers, and traffic signals.
* Utilize traffic engineering software and simulation tools to analyze traffic flow, capacity, and queuing characteristics, and recommend improvements as needed.
* Monitor and inspect traffic control devices and installations to ensure they are installed correctly and functioning properly.
* Provide technical guidance and support to project teams, construction crews, and traffic control personnel to ensure adherence to approved plans and procedures.
* Participate in meetings, workshops, and public hearings to present traffic control plans, address stakeholder concerns, and obtain project approvals.
*Qualifications*:
* 2 yrs.
relevant experience in the construction industry
* Ability to manage multiple complex projects.
* Previous experience with a General Contractor preferred.
* Proficient in AutoCAD and other traffic engineering software, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook; Sage Contractor a plus.
* Required to have a valid Driver’s License.
* Required to pass pre-employment drug test/physical/background check.
