Job Description: OVERVIEW: The Shader I is responsible for the shading (tinting) process and the evaluation of product quality.
2nd and 3rd shift - training on 1st shift $23/hr Test material and finished goods to ensure that they meet production standards and reject items not meeting standards.
Thoroughly and accurately completing all required test reports and documentation.
Work with manufacturing and technical groups to ensure execution of requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Ability to visualize color differences.
Ability to operate mixing equipment.
Ability to obtain representative samples for testing.
Preform viscosity test.
Preform weight per gallon test.
Preform pencil hardness test.
Preform gloss test.
Preform flexibility test.
Preform reverse impact test.
Preform solvent resistance test.
Preform dry film thickness test.
Preform color measurements test.
Preform weight solids test.
Preform pigment to binder ratios test.
Preform acid values test.
Preform MEQ values test.
Preform cross hatch addition test.
Preform particle fineness test.
Preform cleanliness test.
Preform base color and strength test.
Prepare panel for coil and extrusion test.
Set and use ovens.
Determine correct batch adjustments.
Operate color computer and all other required testing apparatuses.
Clean-up equipment and work areas.
Performs all duties in accordance with the tinting work instruction as necessary for the success and growth of the company.
Apply health, safety and environmental principles and procedures daily.
Understand and follow all applicable Axalta Coating Systems Policies and Procedures.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no direct supervisory responsibility.
Education and /or experience: Shader, I require minimum AS to bachelor’s degree education.
However, relevant experience can be substituted for education.
Have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Windows.
Ability to drive forklift.
Language skills: Read analyze and interpret technical procedures, government, and statutory regulations.
Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers clients, customers, and general personnel.
Communication skills: They require the ability to follow verbal and written instructions as well as excellent written and oral communication skills for documentation purposes and an effective work relationship.
Organizational skills: They require the ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines; as well as to organize and maintain data or information.
Drive for quality: They must have a drive to continuously improve processes for improved performance.
Research skills: They also require the ability to gather and generate data as well as conduct relevant investigations where there are deviations from standards.
Technical skills: They must also possess the requisite technical skills required for them to perform their jobs successfully.
