*Summary:* Reporting to the Controller, the Staff Accountant Supervisor must have experience in Cost Accounting.
*Essential Job Responsibilities:* *Accounting:* * Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
* Maintain and reconcile fixed asset schedules.
* Prepare and process 1099's * Prepare journal entries and assist with the month-end and reconciliation and closing process.
· Prepare Balance Sheet account reconciliations, identifying and rectifying errors.
· Prepare a variety of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
· Other duties as assigned.
*Cost Accounting:* * Analyze data related to manufacturing processes, inventory management, and overhead expenses to provide insights for decision-making and cost control measures.
* Collaborate with various departments to gather cost data, forecast future expenses, and establish cost targets.
Monitor and report on budget variances, highlighting areas of concern and recommending corrective actions.
* Develop and implement cost allocation methodologies to accurately assign costs to products, projects, or departments.
* Maintain and update costing systems to ensure accurate and timely cost information.
Identify and implement improvements to streamline processes and enhance cost allocation accuracy.
* Monitor and analyze inventory levels, ensuring accurate valuation and minimizing carrying costs.
Collaborate with the procurement team to optimize inventory levels and identify opportunities for inventory reduction or obsolescence mitigation.
* Ensure compliance with accounting principles, policies, and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with internal and external auditors during financial audits.
* Other duties as assigned.
*Education and Experience:* · Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
* 5-7 years of experience in accounting or finance, with exposure to A/R, A/P, and cost accounting functions.
* Three (3) years of Supervisory experience.
* Solid understanding of basic GAAP accounting principles and procedures.
* Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
*Qualifications:* * Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
* Must be detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Effective time management and organizational abilities.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
* Ability to work with minimal guidance.
* Strong leadership skills.
*Work Environment and Physical Demands:* · Able to stand, regularly required to talk and hear.
· Must have good vision and manual dexterity.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment * Walking and climbing stairs * Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer * Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times * Adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment.
* Plant equipment noise is elevated requiring the use of hearing protection and seasonal temperatures can be expected.
· Exposure to approx.
