We are looking for motivated full time regular Field Welders to join our team.
You will be responsible for welding on structural iron, steel erection, and completing the tasks in a safe, timely, quality manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Careful initial planning of the job to be carried out, reading and following erection drawings/plans.
Using cranes to lift and guide individual steel components into position.
Knowledge on crane signals
Accurately aligning and leveling each steel component into place before bolting and welding them into fixed positions
Using mobile elevated work platforms, ladders, lifts as the structure gains height, to access sections off the ground.
Forklift/Boom Lift certifications are a plus
Laying metal decking, and installing safety railing as the structure is built up
Health and safety is very important, so strict adherence to OSHA guidelines are a must and to be followed at all times.
Regular use of a variety of both hand-held and motorized tools and machinery is required.
Standing for extending periods of time is common.
Lifting of up to 50 pounds is required.
Lays-out, positions, and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications, using straightedge, combination square, protractor, and ruler.
Tack welds or welds components and assemblies using GTAW or GMAW techniques.
Inspects components prior to assembly, making sure they comply with manufacturing blueprints
Cuts workpiece, using powered die grinders, hand grinders and/or hand shears.
Be able to weld in multiple positions.
Analyzes engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations.
Equipment Maintenance, perform routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
Displays a basic mechanical aptitude.
Familiar with equipment function and servicing requirements.
Able to perform preventive maintenance as assigned.
Required
High school diploma/GED required
MIG, TIG, or Stick welding experience.
Minimum of 1-year experience in fabrication.
Must be able to read blueprints/plans
Knowledge of reading erection drawings/plans
2+ years’ experience as a Structural Steel / Misc.
Erector
Welding certification (NR-232 certification)
Driver’s License
Minimum experience:
Welding: 5 years
Ironworker/Erector: 5 years (Preferred)
Blue Print/Plan Reading: 2 years
Structural Welding: 5 years (Preferred)
