AOC Resins, a leading global supplier of specialty resins, has an immediate need for a Process Engineer with production/manufacturing experience.
The Process Engineer is the local expert on reaction, thinning, and mixing operations and provides technical support to products in those operations.
The individual seeks continuous improvement in the safety, quality, and cost of these operations through statistical process control techniques, standard work instructions, and quality configuration.
The individual would need to demonstrate being a self-starter with minimal guidance and would be willing to lead other engineers at the facility, support in troubleshooting and configuring instrumentation & electrical equipment (temperature, pressure, flow), and identify and implement potential improvements to increase process throughput and plant cost-effectiveness.
Position requires Critical Evaluation, Training, Communication, Relationship Management, Coordination, Customer Service, Ethical Practice, and knowledge of ISO 9001 Procedures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Examines daily production records to monitor process and product performance.
Analyzes product consistency using statistical process control charts.
Evaluate the effectiveness of current DeltaV procedures and operations in achieving target base resin properties consistently and in a controlled manner using SPC charting of resin properties as well as DeltaV and PI batch history and data.
Adjusts product and/or process parameters to ensure that product meets customer fitness for use requirements.
Provides real time process support to Production personnel on a 24 hour basis.
Maintain and revise (as required) detailed written procedures / instructions to be used in conjunction with DeltaV configuration, batch operations, QuBE and ISO procedures.
Provide training as required.
Collaborate with product leaders, R&D, technical service, maintenance, engineering and the process area supervisor to resolve process control and product quality issues.
Lead improvement projects in reactor and formulation products through the use of LEAN and six sigma concepts to standardize processes, eliminate waste and rework, reduce inventory levels and cycle times, minimizing order errors, delivery errors and overproduction
Implements and monitors product and process change results to determine effectiveness
Develop tools to simplify data collection/reporting and reduce analysis time
Participates in plant-wide process improvement project teams (often facilitates the team)
Identifies necessary processes and determines process capability to meet customer requirements
Defines process control strategies and identifies key process control parameters and limits
Identifies required testing and inspection methods, materials, and equipment
Defines all required manufacturing parameters in QuBE
Provides work instructions and/or training for new or modified processes
Implements necessary modifications to product to facilitate scale-up
Coordinates process of investigating customer complaints and miscellaneous customer requests
Determines and executes the necessary actions to handle customer requests
Analyzes and interprets collected data
Works with TSO and customers in determining necessary courses of action
Provides product control charts to customers as requested.
Manages disposition of on-hold materials
Provides technical support to other plant personnel as needed
Participates in PHA analysis and MOC reviews as required under the OSHA PSM standard
Maintains assigned documents in accordance with the ISO 9000 quality system
Conducts internal audits in support of the plant’s ISO 9000 quality system
Participates in monthly safety training and awareness activities
Provides back up support to the Process Manager
Qualifications
1-3 years relevant experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Chemical Engineering or Equivalent
Working Knowledge of MS Office, Laboratory Equipment, Manufacturing Operation Systems
Strong communication skills.
Ability to communicate with various levels of employees.
