Job Description
The primary function of this position will be to support the facility’s production area managers, line engineers, and quality specialists in achieving and improving critical quality metrics including non-prime by first intent, prime yield and customer rejections.
The position will perform SAP transactions and maintain the Quality Management System including, but not limited to, daily yield reports, coil corrections, coil dispositions, receipt errors, and rework process orders.
This position will also be integral in developing and maintaining lab and line production procedures as it relates to improving overall product quality and improving key processes.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
In addition to complying with all safety and environmental policies and contributing to the company’s Hops Principles commitment, briefly describe 5 to 10 primary activities (not all activities) that are regularly performed, and the approximate percentage of time annually devoted to each (equals 100%).

Generate, maintain and/or review production reports such as entry and exit logs, daily and monthly yield reports, and disposition held material.

Support operations teams with data assessment, root cause analysis, corrective actions and other activities to drive continuous improvement initiatives for productivity and quality targets 25%
Back up Process Engineer, Sr Quality Specialist or other QTA on critical tasks as needed 15%
Develop, review/revise and SOPs 10%
Assist with vendor management by collecting samples and data and performing necessary testing to investigate problems and defects 10%
Maintain laboratory supplies and equipment including required service and calibrations 5%
Perform sample investigations required in support of customer claims and production line defects/issues 5%
Support new product development and trials by reporting production feedback and test results.

Qualifications
Minimum:
· 5+ years’ experience in steel finishing, or similar heavy industrial processing, laboratory work or quality assurance role.
· High School diploma or equivalent
· Proficient with Excel and Word
Preferred:
· Bachelor’s degree in technical field; engineering, chemistry, material science, manufacturing or similar.
· Quality Systems or Assurance work experience
· SAP experience

Pay Range: $61,546.
