The Electro-Mechanical Technician is responsible for the completion of planned, preventive, and unplanned maintenance on a highly advanced automated material handling system in a distribution center environment.
The ideal EM Tech is focused on maximizing system up-time and performance through safe and efficient execution of maintenance activities.
Primary Responsibilities
Approach all tasks and situations with a Safety First mindset
Maximize system performance and up-time through effective execution of all maintenance-related activities
Participate in a broad array of electrical and mechanical tasks with minimal supervision
Support Production Team through basic fault correction coaching and troubleshooting
Assist in the installation of new or refurbishment of existing system components
Facilitate continuous improvement activities through broad system knowledge and site-specific enhancements
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Strong electrical (3-Phase, 480V, DC and 24V controls) and mechanical skills
Familiarity with electrics/mechanics in drive technology (motors/gears)
Familiarity with control technology (PLC /controls/inverters)
Knowledge of wiring diagrams and electrical measuring
Comfort working with wide assortment of computer systems (Microsoft Office Suite, proprietary system monitoring programs, etc.
)
Ability to work in team environment
Required: High school diploma with at 1-2 years experience in relevant electrical and/or mechanical role
Preferred: Associates degree in industrial technology or related field with 2-4 years experience in relevant electrical and/mechanical role
Experience maintaining material handling systems in a light industry or distribution center environment strong preferred
Continuous walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, and standing
Working at heights of up to 80-100 feet wearing fall-arrest gear and other PPE
Lifting, pulling and pushing up to 50 lbs.
