Job Description
As a Depot Maintenance Technician, your primary responsibility will be to perform maintenance and repairs on a variety of electrical equipment and systems in our depot facility.
Your expertise in electrical systems will be crucial in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our equipment, minimizing downtime, and maximizing productivity.
This position will also be responsible for performing janitorial duties for modular buildings and pallet yard.
Knowledge or willingness to learn proper cleaning techniques is essential.
Duties
Daily job responsibilities/functions to include, but not limited to:
Conduct regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and testing of electrical equipment and systems according to established schedules.
Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate tools and techniques.
Repair or replace defective electrical components, such as motors, control panels, wiring, and switches, ensuring compliance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
Perform electrical installations, upgrades, and modifications as required.
Collaborate with other technicians and team members to identify and resolve electrical problems and improve equipment performance.
Document all maintenance and repair work accurately and maintain detailed records of electrical maintenance history.
Stay up-to-date with electrical codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
Comply with all safety regulations and company policies while working on electrical systems.
Assist in maintaining an inventory of electrical parts and supplies.
Wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment at all times
General maintenance of grounds
Other routine maintenance duties as assigned
Perform other related duties as needed
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED
Six months or more related experience.
Proven experience as a maintenance technician with a strong electrical bias, preferably in a depot or similar environment.
In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, including motors, control circuits, wiring, and troubleshooting techniques.
Familiarity with electrical testing and diagnostic equipment.
Proficient in reading electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals.
Physical Requirements:
Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying and flipping of 75 to 85 pound pallets.
Ability of standing and walking for extended periods of time
Able to twist, bend, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch on a frequent basis.
Able to use hands and feet simultaneously and perform repetitive movements.
Ability to lift up to 100 pounds as needed.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment consists of occasional extreme temperature shifts ranging from very cold to very hot.
Exposure to dust and loud noise (hearing protection is provided)
Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and moving forklifts
